Y’all, I never thought I would be a distressed jeans type of girl. Maybe it was my grandmother’s voice in my head, asking why people would pay money for their clothes to look old and ratty. Maybe it was thinking that my usual preppy self wasn’t cool enough to pull them off. Either way, this pair you’re seeing here is my first distressed pair of jeans…ever.
Long story short, I tried them and I’m obsessed. (Especially since this pair is so soft they feel like jeggings.) I love the pop they give to an otherwise basic outfit, like this black tank and leopard shoes combo from my summer capsule wardrobe. Even popping on a basic white tank with these makes it look like I’ve put a little thought/effort into it (without actually doing anything at all). And y’all know I’m all about that.
Comfort is key. This tank is flattering with the cut of the arms but also roomy, and the jeans have an amazing amount of stretch without stretching out while you wear them. And for the leopard “birks”? Yeah. Just say yes to those.
Front tuck if you want to define your waist. I’ll probably try it when I’m a bit braver. Baby steps, y’all.
Choose statement earrings + a bracelet. The neckline of this tank is my favorite. Let it shine! I say no necklace with this beauty. Bling up your ears instead. I’m loving these with this outfit right now. Pop of gold + black = my jam. (I’ve linked to a few more statement earring faves at the bottom of the post!)
What do y’all think? Are you into distressed jeans?
