Ah, winter in the South. One day it’s freezing, the next day it’s basically spring. Makes capsule wardrobe-ing a little difficult.
Last week we were snowed in Wednesday and Thursday, and I loved every second of it. Cozying up on the couch while snow falls outside is what a Southern girl’s snow day dreams are made of. (Did y’all check out Kendra’s veggie pot pie recipe last week? Perfect for chilly days/nights!) Patrick and I made some cranberry Moscow mules, watched about half a season of Grey’s Anatomy, and generally just hunkered down. Snow days = best nap days. There’s honestly few things I love in this world more than a good afternoon nap.
In typical Southern fashion, it’s been sunny almost 70 degrees the last few days, after which it’ll go back to being cold and grey. While I’m not complaining, it also means my capsule wardrobe has to be extra versatile to go from snow and ice one week to sunny and mild the next. Today’s outfit is perfect for when there’s just a bit of chill in the air: a cozy sweater, thinner jeans, and beautiful leopard flats (When it gets below 50 you will not see my feet exposed. Cue the fuzzy socks.) If the temperatures dip, I’d switch the flats for boots and throw my down-free puffy coat on over this. Until then, I’ll be outside soaking up this sunshine while it lasts.
