Christmas Capsule Outfit + My Favorite Christmas Traditions

Happy Christmas Eve-eve y'all! I've officially wrapped zero presents and still need to clean my entire house before my brother and his fianceé arrive tomorrow. Maybe for Christmas Santa will bring me some time management skills? Here's hoping. Since my brother lives on the West Coast and my parents are in the Bahamas, getting together over the holidays can be tough. This year will be our first "sibling Christmas" without my parents. I'll miss them like crazy but am SO EXCITED to have Jack and ... View the Post

Ensley’s Winter 2017 Capsule Wardrobe

Womp womp: it's winter. Like really winter, as this past weekend was dark + grey with a steady "wintry mix" falling from the sky. Maybe it's the Floridian in me, but I can't stand to be cold for a single second. The one winter I spent living in New York taught me how to dress for real cold (not just "chill"), and those lessons have served me well. I have no shame in throwing on my (down-free!) puffy coat, hat, and gloves the second it dips below 50 degrees. I've noticed Southerners have this ... View the Post

Fall Capsule Roundup + Reflections

Welp, it's official: fall capsule wardrobe #1 is behind me! I'll be spending this next week putting the finishing touches on my winter capsule and packing my lighter items (read: sandals) away under the bed. I learn so much with each capsule, and this one will always hold a special place in my heart. I loved it! As I say goodbye to some of my fall favorites, I'm sharing my biggest takeaways + rounding up your favorite looks. The outfit combinations from this capsule were (almost) endless, but ... My Fall Accessory MVPs

One of the top questions I get asked during my capsule wardrobe SkillPop! classes is if I feel like I'm wearing the same thing all the time. The answer? No. Even though I actually am wearing the same few pieces on rotation, the right accessories keep outfits feeling new and exciting. I was much smarter about accessories in this fall capsule than I was over the summer, and it meant I got even more wear out of a wardrobe I loved. A long sleeved black top + distressed jeans was casual chic with ... View the Post

Capsule Holiday Outfit + I’m a Thanksgiving Scrooge

Aaaaand it's Thankgiving already. (Or as we Rebelles like to call it: ThanksLIVING!) After a whirlwind month that included moving, Patrick starting a new job, and me adding yoga teacher to my resume, I'm welcoming winter. A time to snuggle into sweaters, cozy up on the couch, and just slow down the pace. Yes please. If you haven't already, check out yesterday's post with our favorite vegan ThanksLiving recipes all rounded up in one place for you. While I'm Christmas's #1 fan, Thanksgiving ... View the Post

The World’s Most Magical Jeggings

Y'all were so great with your responses to my post last week about figuring out this whole "social life in your 30s" thing. The biggest takeaway from your comments/messages is that Patrick and I just need to be more intentional with our time, whether it's for the two of us or out with friends. Saying we're going to go on a date and then just sitting on the couch asking "So...where do you want to go?" isn't the most romantic. Gone are the days when we're texting friends on Saturday afternoon to ... View the Post

Having a Social Life in Your 30s: The Struggle is Real

Capsule wardrobes can teach you a lot about yourself. Namely, that you don't need a capsule wardrobe due to a significant lack of going anywhere/doing anything. Having a social life in your 30s is weird. Case in point: Halloween. Patrick and are in this life stage where our friends all either 1) have small kids or 2) are single. The friends with kids are trick-or-treating with their little ones, the single ones are off gallivanting at bars until the wee hours. No one is planning Halloween ... View the Post

Keeping It Simple + I Taught My First Yoga Class!

Last night I realized a longtime dream and taught my very first "official" yoga class. What a rush! Teaching yoga has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager taking classes on the beach with my mom. I auditioned last week at a local studio here in Charlotte, and was asked to sub for another teacher just a few days later. Even though I was super nervous, I was also glad that I didn't have too much time to worry about it. May as well just dive in headfirst, right? I had a great group of five ... View the Post

Grey + White Part 4: We’re Moving!

Not going to lie, I thought I'd be a little bored working part time. Bored? What is this "bored"? Instead, life has been coming at us from a million different directions. For starters, I didn't anticipate being at the doctor every other day for treatment for my tension headaches (that's dialed back, but my spine was messed up y'all). Between doctor appointments, writing, squeezing in a yoga practice, and getting all of the random chores/errands done that life requires, I feel just as busy ... View the Post

Grey + White Part 3: Adventures in Acupuncture

One of the (many) things I'm enjoying about working part-time is the chance to read nonstop. Rory Gilmore = my life inspiration, and I try to always carry a book with me just like she did. I'm that person in a waiting room reading a hardcover while everyone else is scrolling on their phones.  Superiority complex, party of 1. Reading is one of my favorite things in the world, and since I started nannying I've been churning through 2-3 books a week. Awesome, right? Not so much. Towards the end ... View the Post
