Fiesta Bean Dip

Even though we've passed Cinco de Mayo, we never stop celebrating Mexican food (and margs) over here at Rebelle Kitchen. And this Fiesta Bean Dip? Definitely something worth celebrating. We've brought this to potlucks, parties, and even weekend getaways. Show up on the doorstep with this when you get a beach house invite and you're practically guaranteed to get invited back. Note: it's tempting to add avocado to this because, duh. But we've found that the dressing makes avocado get ... View the Post

Who-knew-they-were-vegan chocolate chip cookies

Growing up in South Africa, I knew the American chocolate chip cookies were the real deal! Warm and soft inside with the slightest crunch of the chocolate chip and crisp edge on the outside. Ahhhh. I would make like a squirrel and store enough in my cheeks to last the 4 years between trips. No really. I wish I could have done this. The chocolate chip cookies, or ‘biscuits’ as we call them in SA are the opposite. They are more like little rocks. They are so hard, you basically feel like you ... View the Post

Current Obsession: Glowing Green Smoothie

There's only a handful of things one can consider truly life-changing: choosing a career path, meeting one's spouse, having a baby, etc. Add "discovering the Glowing Green Smoothie" to that list. It's that amazing, y'all. We've both been obsessed with Kimberly Snyder and her Beauty Detox lifestyle for awhile now. She's basically everything we want to be: vegan yoga goddess, Earth mama, and health coach. We read her books, listen to her podcast, and basically copy everything she does. Like ... View the Post

Hoppy Easter, y’all! {Vegan Easter Brunch}

TBH, brunch is a vegan's worst nightmare. Everything has egg in it, there's no almond milk for our coffee...it's the definition of #firstworldprobs. But for real, it's difficult. Family gatherings/holidays are also a challenge, since the traditional food served is always rather animal-heavy. (Unless you're Indian. I totally want to be Indian.) So while I love Easter and all that it stands for, it can be a bit of a doozy considering it's a ham-centered family holiday brunch where people ... View the Post

Raw Energy Bites

Mmmmm, nut balls. Said no one ever. I mean, that's literally what this recipe is: a bunch of nuts ground up and rolled into a spherical form known commonly as a "ball". Buuuuut we're also immature and cackled with laughter every time we texted about this recipe. Can you send me a pic of the balls? We figured you would be much less likely to make them/eat them/offer them to guests without a little rebranding. For the sake of making them sound as appealing as they are, we've renamed them ... One-Pot Chana Masala

Kendra is a beast in the kitchen. She managed to churn out this recipe at the same time we were taking photos for another post AND she made brownies. #imnotworthy. My role was more of taste tester/get in the way/distract you while you're measuring things. Play to your strengths, right? Case in point: I tried to be "helpful" by asking if I could add the coconut milk, to which Kendra kindly obliged. It was only after I'd dumped in the entire contents of the can that I thought to ask how much ... View the Post

The Food Babe’s Almond Butter Brownies

Move over chocolate chip cookies-there's a new crowd pleaser in town. A crowd pleaser that also has seven ingredients. I swear this is just as easy as dumping a box of brownie mix in a bowl. When a good friend brought these amazing Almond Butter Brownies to our New Year's Eve party, it was seriously love at first taste.(Thanks Food Babe!) Despite the fact it's no longer the holiday season, I find myself coming up with random excuses to make them. Watching a football game? Check. Baby shower? ... View the Post
