Valentine’s Date Night Capsule Outfit

I’m not going to lie: Patrick and my’s date nights are not the most glamorous. When two people marry each other who are NOT planners, date nights tend to be the last minute/we don’t feel like cooking kind. Not romantic.

I also have to say, “fancy” Charlotte restaurants are pretty lame when it comes to vegan options. I can count on one hand the amount that even offer a vegetarian menu item, much less vegan. The ones that do often have only one option, which means that once I’ve eaten there…I’m good. There’s only so many $25 entrees I want to eat on repeat. Plus, we have some AMAZING casual vegan places, like Bean. OMG Bean. Not fancy, totally delicious. And before you tell me that I can always call a restaurant and ask them to make me something special, I’ll tell you I’d prefer to give my business to places that seem like they want me as a customer.

With that being said, Patrick and I actually have a fancy date night planned! My parents bought us tickets to see Rouge as a Christmas present, and we’re meeting up with Kendra and Daniel for dinner beforehand. A well-thought out, planned date night? I’m into it. (Can I also say my parents knock it out of the park with experience gifts?)

As much as I like the look of a high heel for date night, anyone who’s tromped around Uptown Charlotte in one knows it’s not super practical. Sometimes you have to walk a good ways, hence the need for a fancy flat. (There’s also the fact that I hate heels.) I’ll also be bundling up in my favorite faux fur vest and a little winter white. For a chick that spends 99% of her time in leggings and a sweatshirt, this is quite the improvement.

OUTFIT DEETS

(Disclaimer: most of this outfit is from years past, and it was tough finding similar items due to the fact that everything has wool in it in winter. Sigh. I’ve done my best to find you the next best thing if the actual item I’m wearing isn’t available!)

01| Faux fur vest (from H&M, old) | similar | similar

02| Light grey turtleneck (from Old Navy, old) | similar | similar

03 | White jeans

04 | Leopard flats (from Old Navy, sold out) | similar
